The guys over at Woot Wine are offering this creation, Boss Monster Zinfandel, complete with old school video gamer feel. Apparently, the name is a wine pun, a monster “Zin” is one with a high alcohol content.
No,we don’t rescue many princesses these days, or shoot many laser bolts at many slavering abominations while avoiding their many tentacles. Just not part of our lifestyle anymore. But while our tastes have matured, we haven’t lost our craving for adventure – blocky, crudely-rendered adventure.
That’s why we’re hitting RESET on another bottle of Boss Monster by Woot Cellars. Made from grapes grown on the hillsides of the Dry Creek Valley in northern Sonoma County, this 2007 Zinfandel delivers the fruit and spice characteristic of its native valley, sweet ripe blackberry laced with the tiniest dusting of black pepper. It’s a power-up you can get without breaking some bricks with your head. It’s an enchanted potion you don’t have to buy from some hut-bound oldster who only knows three sentences.
At 14.4% alcohol by volume, I think the most gaming you will get after drinking this would be the “Game Over” screen.
