Ok, Dungeons & Dragons just got facelift, thanks to students at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Centre, with SurfaceScapes, a proof-of-concept for playing traditional table top role-playing games on Microsoft’s Surface Table.
Everything has gone digital, from the dice rolling, to the miniatures, and environments. It even does the calculations for you, and gives you audio/visual feedback based off of what you do while playing. This is deep geekery people.
Makes you think though, of all the games you could actually modernize and play on that thing. Touchscreen Operation, anyone?

I think one of the reasons for the games popularity is its simplicity and this just takes it all away.
It does remove quite a bit of the imagination aspect indeed.
