These days, most major bank/credit card companies offer a service that allows you to upload a photo of your own, and pending approval, (including no copyrighted pics) you get a shiny new credit card with a T-Rex or whatever on it. Nerd Salad reader Charlie wanted a unique Capital One credit card. Not only an original, but something that would stand out in a geeky way, making cashiers do a double take with every swipe, the holy grail of credit card photos. Here is his story:
I scrolled through the My Pictures folder on my home PC and as soon as I saw this picture I knew it was perfect. I resized it. Uploaded. Fit it on a test card. It was amazing. I had one of those Ralphie’s dad moments. It was my lamp, only better. Now I just had to wait for it to be approved. I got this email on my way home from work:
Congratulations! Your image has been approved
The image you submitted for your Capital One® Image CardSM has been accepted. Expect to receive your new personalized card in the mail within 7–10 business days. When you receive your new Image Card, be sure to activate it and destroy your old card.
Each time you use your new card, you’ll be expressing a bit of your individuality. We hope you enjoy your new personalized card.
Regards,
Capital One
